With every material, every process, every action, we’re creating a better future. This is not just our sustainability objective but the corporate vision of Shaw Industries, our parent company. Succeeding requires a careful balance of driving innovation into the business, protecting and making efficient use of natural resources, personal engagement and focusing on long-term financial success. Achieving our sustainable business strategy is not just good for our company but is also good for our planet and our communities where we work, live and play.
Shaw, our parent company, is committed to the disclosure, verification and evaluation of our products and processes. This culture complements our methodology at Anderson Tuftex, which is rooted in authenticity and transparency for the consumer experience.
The Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Products Standard is among the most rigorous in the world and guides all of our processes and products in 5 areas: material health, material reutilization, renewable energy, water stewardship and social fairness. Certified products are verified for safe ingredients that can be recycled or reused. In 2015, 65% of the sales of Shaw’s manufactured product were Cradle to Cradle Certified as we progress toward our 2030 goal to design 100% of our products to this standard.
Shaw Floors maintains a diverse portfolio of sustainability initiatives, with our progress reported annually through a GRI-compliant Sustainability Report. Learn more at shawfloors.com/shaw-sustainability.
Other programs in which we participate include: Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), GREENGUARD Certification, Green Label Plus, Health Product Declaration (HPD), ILFI Declare ™and NSF/ANSI 140. This is a small subset and not inclusive of all corporate engagement.
