Frequently Asked Questions
Maintaining your carpet requires routine care, but the steps are simple. In addition to the three simple steps outlined above, always refer to your carpet's maintenance and care guidelines to learn more.
Wool is a natural fiber; some shedding may initially occur as fibers work their way out of the product until loose. Loose fibers can easily be trimmed even with the pile.
Spills must be cleaned immediately after they happen. You should never rub a spill - instead blot gently with a clean white cloth or paper towel. Use general soil spot removers, like Shaw‘s TOTALCARE® products, for most common spots and spills. Check our wool maintenance checklist for further instructions on more specific stains and spills.
Excessive exposure to water must be avoided with all-natural fiber products. We recommend professional cleaning only. Avoid the use of shampooing products intended for synthetic carpet, as they may permanently damage your wool carpet.
